This Wi-Fi Universal Power Block Controller provides Wi-Fi Control of four isolated track power blocks and also allows you to use Wi-Fi to drive DC locomotives within those blocks as well as WifiTrax Wi-Fi-Loco-equipped locos or DCC locos using a separate controller. It allows you to control the direction and source of the power supply to each block and detect a locomotive operating within the block. It supports four loco control channels that you may control using any app that uses the WiThrottle Protocol as used by JMRI. Examples are WiThrottle by Brett Hoffman on Apple IOS and Engine Driver by Steve Todd on Android. You can also use the TCS UWT-100 Universal Wi-Fi Throttle.
This module is an upgrade from our original WUFP-40.

WUFP-47 Four-Block Universal Wi-Fi Power Controller

Use this module to drive DC, WifiTrax or DCC locomotives on the same layout!

This module can be easily installed on any scale model railroad where there is a requirement to divide the track into isolated blocks or districts. This is necessary when you want to include reversing loops, wyes or turntables on your model railroad or in this case to allow you to run DC locomotives on the same layout as locomotives with WifiTrax modules such as WMH-20 or WMR-10, or DCC locomotives with the use of a separate command station.

This module supplies power to four fully (both rail) isolated blocks on your model railroad track and allows you to control the source and direction of power to each as well as monitor current and detect and protect from overloads. The module will supply the block with either fixed DC suitable for WifiTrax-equiped locomotives, Pulse Width Modulated signal to drive a DC loco, or a DCC signal from an external DCC controller. It also provides auto-reverse to allow a locomotive to seamlessly traverse a return loop, wye or turntable.

The key feature distinguishing the WUFP-47 Universal Power Block Controller is that any one DC locomotive within the block can appear exactly like a DCC locomotive or one fitted with a WifiTrax Loco Controller. You can therefore drive DC locomotives using Apps on a smart phone or tablet as above or using the TCS UWT-100.

Use this when you cannot or don't want to install a WifiTrax controller in the locomotive, but you DO want to control it using Wi-Fi, such as in N-Scale where the loco may be too small.

Fully compatible with DCC systems. 15 Volt DC mains power adapter sold separately.

Note: When driving a DC locomotive the WUFP-47 uses back e.m.f from the motor to give precise control of speed. However, you can only control one DC locomotive on each block at a time.
